Hijama (cupping)

Hijama cupping is in fact wet cupping (i.e. where blood is removed) but done in accordance with the Islamic principles of Hijama. Cupping is done using glass or plastic cups in which a vacuum is created and is generally classified as either wet or dry, dry being the more common practice in the west. Wet cupping on the other hand is less common but more effective when it comes to using this modality for the treatment of many serious illnesses. It is most effective for pain and febrile illnesses but can also reduce cholesterol, regulate blood sugar levels, normalise insulin,...
